K" LINE is a pioneer in having put the first large car carrier into the market, with safety and speed as the core of our marine transport services.

"K" LINE first introduced its multi-purpose automobile and bulk carriers in 1968, starting with Toyota Maru No. 1. In 1970, Toyota Maru No. 10 was placed into service as Japan’s first specialized car carrier, so-called PCC (Pure Car Carrier). "K" LINE has been operating a large number of PCCs ever since, contributing to safe transportation with shorter lead-time in the area of complete car transport.

K Line has been steadily pouring long-accumulated experience and techniques into realization of safe, damage-free transport for valuable complete cars transported under our service during cargo handling operations as well as during the ocean voyage. They have been introducing a series of sophisticated technology from a Flow Stowage System to production of stowage plan, from administration systems to improvement of securing materials (against sway or cargo movement).

In recent years, production sites have been expansively shifting from the traditional vehicle-producing countries to emerging industrial countries; meanwhile, each factory tends to concentrate on production of specified types of vehicles which will eventually increase the necessity for greater diversity of global logistics. To tackle such diversifying global logistics, K Line is endeavoring to meet customer needs by reinforcement of transportation services in the Atlantic, Southeast Asia, Oceania, Indian Ocean and EU, etc.
